Pioneer - Tuesday

Day 2 started early with a rousing chorus of celebratory music as Mr Stagg welcomed in a new decade! We then headed off for breakfast and were overwhelmed by the quality and choice of breakfasts available. Children helped themselves to both continental and cooked breakfasts.

After this, we made our way out for the beginning of our bust day which was packed full of activities. These included abseiling, zip wire, nightline, climbing wall, raft building, archery and orienteering. The children performed brilliantly, showing many of the skills we cherish, such as: resilience, perseverance, ingenuity and an abundance of positivity. The smiles and laughs kept on coming throughout the morning from children and staff alike, especially from Mrs Tolley even when she took a tumble and dragged down Mr Rylatt in the process! However, the offending rock was swiftly removed from the premises to make sure no more damage could be done to Mrs Tolley.

We wound down our way with a delicious meal of spaghetti bolognese and waffles and ice cream. Mr Stagg was surprised by a collective chorus of Happy Birthday from both the Pioneer staff and accompanying schools! To end the evening, we tried our hand at being real world explorers with orienteering around the site searching for missing letters to one of the pioneer activities.

Leaders ensure that a broad and balanced curriculum is in place. Pupils have access to a wide range of engaging learning experiences that capture their interest.
