Pioneer 2023 - Day 1

We arrived at the Pioneer centre shortly after 11 O'clock and were met by the enthusiastic team leaders! We then spent the next half an hour learning how to make a bed and having a tour of the amazing facilities. After a short break we set off for our first activities (Night line/Climbing). The weather turned slightly against us with a light shower however we did not let this dampen our spirits (though it did make things more slippy and challenging). After working up an appetite, we ventured to the dining hall to enjoy a hearty dinner of sausage and mash!

Afterwards, we had some free time before heading back outside to test our map reading skills. The children did very well and tirelessly sought out the answers to the anagram that they had been tasked with solving. As the sun went down and the temperature began to get quite chilly, we turned in for the night. Showers were followed by a quick drink before a bit of quiet reading. Bring on day 2!

Leaders ensure that a broad and balanced curriculum is in place. Pupils have access to a wide range of engaging learning experiences that capture their interest.
