Pioneer 2025 - Day 1

Our residential began with a relaxing coach journey where the children chatted excitedly about the upcoming activities. When we arrived, the children were whisked away for a tour of the centre’s facilities by our instructors: Gretta and Lottie. After their tour the children took part in one of the centres most exciting activities…making beds!

Soon, we were diving into our first couple of sessions – Challenge Course and Nightline. During the challenge course the children developed their teamwork and communication skills while completing a range of challenges. These involved climbing, lifting, swinging and many, many stretches! Nightline comprised of the children being blindfolded and needing to follow a rope through a range of obstacles, such as: tyres, nets and tunnels. After a lot of mud, sweat and tears we made our way to have our tea which was very filling! For our final activity of the evening the children took aim at some targets in a range of archery trials.

In the evening, we relaxed in our communal lounge before making our way to bed, ready for the excitement that the next day would bring.

A broad and enriching curriculum is characterised by inspiring opportunities and memorable experiences, fully utilising the arts, sport, themed weeks and moments of awe and wonder.
