Pioneer 2025 - Day 2

Day 2 began with an early morning performance from S-Club 7 who kindly woke all of the children. The children have a great first night in Tree Tops Lodge and a number needed coaxing from their covers. Once all the children were dressed, we made our way down to the canteen and devoured another delicious meal. This time we were treated to the option of a continental or cooked breakfast. When we had eaten our fill, we made our way outside into the glorious sunshine to take part in our first activities of the day. Throughout the morning children tackled their fear of heights on the climbing wall and abseil and zip and worked collaboratively through a range of team building exercises in the challenge course.

After a pleasant morning in the sun, the children were glad to wet their feet and have an opportunity to paddle/swim during raft building. Here the children worked together to build their raft, manoeuvre it around the lake and compete in raft polo! When we had fully relaxed and cooled off in the refreshing water, we tackled our fear of heights with the high ropes course and the centre’s renowned leap of faith! It was fantastic to see all of the children push themselves beyond their comfort zone and tackle their fears.

The children then made their way to the canteen for another delicious meal. For the evening’s tea we were treated to a lovely mix of roast chicken, roast potatoes, carrots, beans and gravy followed by a sweet treat!

The school makes a huge investment in the personal development and welfare of its pupils, ensuring that pastoral care is exemplary.
