Pioneer 2025 - Day 3

Day 3 started with many bleary eyes and yawns…and that was just from the teachers! Once we had woken we made our way across to the canteen for another great breakfast. Before long, we were whisked away to our final activities of our trip. Group one ventured off to squeeze themselves through the labyrinth of tunnels that the centre’s cave system had to offer while Group 2 set their sights on the top of the climbing tower and used all of their strength to reach for the stars!

Soon, our final adventure activity was complete and we made our way to a small area of grass where Lottie and Gretta put the children through their paces in a range of team games and competitions.

Throughout the visit, the children were trying to earn themselves a prized Pioneer Token! This token was awarded by each instructor and the subsequent children who earned one. They were awarded for demonstrating: resilience, teamwork and for pushing themselves beyond their comfort zone. At the end of our stay the children were able to redeem their Pioneer Tokens for a number of prizes.

In no time at all, it was time for us to leave. Throughout our stay the children had acted with all of our golden values with a number of staff from the centre and other schools commenting on how well-behaved, well-mannered and supportive the children were to each other. It was a great experience for everyone involved a treat to see so any lifelong memories being created.

On a final note, I hope that all subsequent years who visit The Pioneer Centre are able to experience the joy and sense of adventure that this brilliant facility has to offer! It has been brilliant to see so many children flourish and thrive on these residentials while experiencing some truly amazing activities.

Pupils conduct themselves well around the school. They are polite and well presented. They are clearly proud of their school.
