Isle Of Wight School Trip 2010

News - Wednesday 30th June.

The day has dawned bright and sunny with a gentle breeze off the sea.

The children are just getting up and looking forward to breakfast, fossil hunting by the sea and Carisbrooke Castle.

A full day with a start on fossil hunting at 11.30 a.m. on St. Catherine’s Point. Nearly everyone found some and enjoyed chipping away and splitting the rocks. We ate lunch on the shore beside the sea and then one group went to Carisbrooke Castle while the other continued to search for fossils. When everyone was together at Carisbrooke we watched a DVD of the Castle’s remarkable history and then walked around the walls and up onto the tower to explore the defences. They also enjoyed meeting the donkeys! We left at 5 p.m. and got back for a super dinner at 6 p.m. Soon everyone will be going down to the beach for football and a paddle and will be returning a bit early for bed as everyone is looking suntanned, happy – though very tired!
