Isle Of Wight School Trip 2010
News - Tuesday 29th June.
What a day! We set off after breakfast for Dinosaur Isle where we saw lots of fossils
of ammonites as well as dinosaur bones. Then we went round the exhibition, spent
loads of money in the brilliant shop and then headed for Bembridge Lifeboat. We walked
along to the new Lifeboat Station on a walkway over the sea and presented a cheque
for £200 from the cake sales. After lunch we went to Osborne House and had a brilliant
time. After the tour the children were taken to a Victorian classroom where the ‘teacher’
treated them as servants and showed them how to do chores, Victorian style. Very
scary! After dinner we walked through Shanklin Chine with the floodlit gorge and
waterfalls – beautiful. We have just arrived back and the children are showering
and then getting ready for a drink, biscuit and bed. It’s been an exciting, tiring
day with lots to do with brilliant weather, though, thankfully a bit cooler.
Tomorrow is fossil hunting and Carisbrooke Castle.
