It is with great sadness that I have to say that from Monday 23rd March, the school will officially be closing its doors to many of you for the foreseeable future.
Although these last few weeks have been challenging for all, the support and unity shown by the children, staff and the whole community has been endless. It is this unity that makes Tewkesbury C of E the special place it is.
The school will remain open to a small number of children and families, this is to help those of you who are working around the clock to help others. Your selfless acts will forever be remembered.
Over the next few months, your teachers will still be working tirelessly to set your children fun and stimulating activities and to try and keep you up to date with some of the latest resources that are available for those homeschooling. No doubt that these activities will get more and more elaborate as we come to understand the capabilities of working remotely, I’m very excited about what teachers are already planning to do!
And for the parents who are homeschooling your children, I want to wish you the best of luck. Remember, learning can take many forms, so please snuggle up and read together, build a den, plant some flowers, bake, eat together and enjoy each other’s company. This is a rare opportunity, so make the most of it.
Never in our generation, have we had to deal with anything quite like this, but I firmly believe that when we all return, we will be stronger than ever. We have such a committed team at C of E who are ready to do whatever it takes to get through this, and I for one, am immensely proud of them all.
Take care of yourselves
Mr T. Rylatt
