World Book Day

World Book Day at Tewkesbury C of E Primary School:

On Monday 11th March, pupils and staff at Tewkesbury C of E Primary school enjoyed a day celebrating everything about books and stories. The theme this year was ‘Share a Story’ which we made the most of by having or very own ‘Story Safari’!

Story Safari & Lanterns:

Teachers, dressed as their favourite book character, swapped classes and entertained children up and down the school by sharing their favourite story. During the day, children got ‘crafty’ and designed and made their own story lantern which we hope to showcase around the school and in the library.

Book Swap & Live Lesson:

Thank you for your support bringing in unwanted books as children were able to take part in a book swap, picking up a different book from a wide selection of donated books. Some children took part in a live lesson as part of the day which was hosted by the BBC and included famous children’s authors and live challenges and tasks.

All in all, the day was a success and we hope to continue to encourage and support the children’s love of reading.
