This week in Year 4…12.1.18

This week we have been learning how to draw flowers in art and learning more about the artist Henri Rousseau who loved painting pictures of plants and flowers. In science, we made telephones using plastic cups and string. We did this to test whether sound vibrations can travel through a solid. Our classes have been learning about the Anglo-Saxons, including who they were and where they came from. Did you know that the Anglo-Saxons were made up of tribes who used to fight each other? They were also very good farmers and excellent craftsmen. The Anglo-Saxons liked making objects from wood, as well as intricate jewellery. In English, we have been learning the story of Beowulf – a brave warrior who defeated the terrifying monster Grendel.
