On Monday and Tuesday, Year 2 went on an exciting expedition to the Kingwood Trust, near Wolverhampton. For many children, it was their first time staying away from home and all of the staff were pleased and proud of their fantastic attitude to trying new things.
Monday saw an exciting rush to find a bed in their dormitories, followed by activities such as the zip wire, ropes course and sensory treasure hunt. After a delicious lunch of macaroni cheese, we went on a walk on Kingswood Common where we made some fabulous birds’ nests. The children enjoyed our torch-lit night walk and everyone slept well after hot chocolate and a DVD.
On Tuesday, the children made their beds and ate breakfast, before a fun-packed day of animal handling, tree climbing and peg orienteering. It was finally time to go home and 46 very sleepy but happy children arrived back to lots of hugs from Mummies and Daddies.
What a fantastic time we had!
