Newsletter #17 – 10/2/17

Value Forgiveness | Menu – Week 1

We will be shortly holding an election for a Parent Governor. This may be something that you have considered standing for but are unsure of what is involved. We have a long standing history of excellent governance at his school. This has been achieved through working in partnership with the headteacher, senior leadership team and co-operatively with other governors to raise standards and improve outcomes for all children. I have attached to this Newsletter, frequently asked questions about the role of the Governor today. We are particularly seeking someone with the skill set of Health and Safety and premises regulations.

As part of your consideration to stand for election it would be beneficial to meet with myself and the Chair of Governors: Jonathan Handley to discuss expectations from both parties. To initially register your interest, please contact the school office for further details.

When I grow up! – Reception classes

At the last parents evening many parents registered their email addressess with us so that they could receive the school newsletter this way. After half term we will be emailing the newsletter directly to parents as well as putting it on the website.

PE Kits/Swimming Kits

At the moment far too many children are forgetting their PE kits or swimming kits which means that the office staff are engaged in a round of numerous phone calls each morning. This prevents other parents form contacting the school by phone with urgent messages. Please can you leave PE kits in school lockers and get the children to organise their swimwear the night before.

Our pre-school is increasing weekly with new children joining. We have Free Funded places available for all 2, 3 and 4 year olds. The Pre-School team is led by Miss Rowland and Mrs McMahon and supported by Mrs Hughes, Miss Hewett, Miss Smith and Miss Merriman. If you have a pre-school aged child why not drop by and see the team and view the amazing learning experiences.
