PE kits/Swimming kits
At the moment far too many children are forgetting their PE kits or swimming kits which means that the office staff are engaged in a round of numerous phone calls each morning. This prevents other parents from contacting the school by phone with urgent messages. Please can you leave PE kits in school lockers and get the children to organise their swimwear the night before.

Our pre-school is increasing weekly with new children joining. We have Free Funded places available for all 2, 3 and 4 year olds. We will be shortly holding an election for a Parent Governor. This may be something that you have considered standing for but are unsure of what is involved. We have a long standing history of excellent governance at his school. This has been achieved through working in partnership with the headteacher, senior leadership team and co-operatively with other governors to raise standards and improve outcomes for all children. I have attached to this Newsletter, frequently asked questions about the role of the Governor today. We are particularly seeking someone with the skill set of Health and Safety and premises regulations.

As part of your consideration to stand for election it would be beneficial to meet with myself and the Chair of Governors: Jonathan Handley to discuss expectations from both parties. To initially register your interest, please contact the school office for further details.

Tangramtastic maths experience

Today Mrs. Rouse and teams form Year 4 and Year 5 attended Balcarras School for a maths experience morning. We looked at Tangrams, building an Icosahedron (see below), looking using the digits 1 to 10 to satisfy a range of problems, to include:- creating 5 pairs of multiples of 3, 7 and also generating prime numbers. These are a sample of the tasks and activities that took place. Each pupil came away with a special pen, the model we made below and a certificate. Great fun was had by all – including Mrs. Rouse!
