Value – Hope | Menu – Week 2

This week many of the children have been on their theme trips. Year 3 visited Bristol Museum where they had a workshop studying and classifying rocks before exploring the museum. In the afternoon they visited Clifton Suspension Bridge and Clifton Observatory, looking at the landscape and how it was formed. An excellent day of learning.

Year 6 went back in time and dressed as WW2 evacuees visited Winchcombe Station and rode on a steam train. Afterwards they experienced what it was like to be selected by families whom they had never met. Just as those evacucees had done 75 years ago. A really worthwhile experience for them. Year 1 visited Pershore for ‘All things Wild’ and had hands on experiences with a variety of animals. They followed a dinosaur trail.

ISing POP-Concert The hall has been full of the beautiful sounds of the children singing the Ising Pop songs. Yesterday a recording was made and you will be able to buy the CD. There are two concerts next Wednesday 5th October at Holy Trinity Church. The first at 2.00pm, the second at 6.00pm. ALL the children will be taking part with the exception of the Reception classes. Parents are invited to both concerts. Can I ask that you bring your child/ren to the evening concert at 5.30pm ready for the 6.00pm start. The school will take the children to the 2.00pm performance and then walk the children back to school to collect their belongings and be dismissed as normal. Please do not try to take your child from the concert as they will not be handed over.

At the end of the 6.00pm concert parents can take their children home. Whilst I appreciate the children may be tired or have clubs this is a special event and made even more so by the attendance of all the children singing together. It will make a difference if your child doesn’t come.

Mop Fair

Next week is Mop Fair. This causes parking restrictions around the school. There will be no parking Thursday 6th or Friday 7th at Cascades car park. On Friday there will also be the restriction of no access to Barton Street, East Street, Nelson Street and part of Oldbury Road. We would suggest parking in Morrisons car park and walking to school. All Saints’ Academy There is an Open Day on Monday 3rd October at 6.00pm -8.00pm at All Saints’ Academy in Cheltenham. This may be of interest to the parents of Year 5 and Year 6 pupils.
