Evacuation experience

On Tuesday 27th September 1940, Year 6 children were evacuated to the safety of the Cotswold countryside via Winchcombe train station. Children experienced a day as an evacuee; being greeted by their host family, travelling on the steam train to Cheltenham, having a ‘run in’ with a German spy, working as auxiliary fire fighters and having to shelter from the Blitz to name but a few of the highlights of the day!
